I try to scan from negatives, but many of the files for my early gallery posts were done on a copy stand from prints which had burning and dodging already complete, and/or were from medium or large format that I can't scan. I usually put "Digitized from original print with Canon 1Ds and 55mm f/3.5 Micro-Nikkor" in the description if it's not from an original negative. The clef and the clown were from the negatives (Polaroid SprintScan with scuzzy connectors to an iMac G4).
