I think Brian is confirming that the more people you link together, and the
more efficient and faster you make the link between them, the more likely
that thoughtless, impulsive, overreactive, hostile and boorish behavior
will come to the forefront, and with it mob psychology. Which is why I'm
skeptical about the overall value of social networks, even though they make
keeping in touch with distant friends easier. And as much as I love the
LUG, every time we have one of these "LUG eruptions," it makes me sad,
because we're dumbing ourselves down to average behavior.
