I think you can get a card to use it, but it's expensive and I wanted to get away from cell phones anyway. I just let mine go dead until I got back to Mexico. I had enough problems finding places to charge my camera batteries. I didn't want to allocate one to my phone. I'm sure you could use it as a camera, though. I saw lots of other people doing that.
