However, it's not always possible to hear her live anymore... ;-) I remember by grandfather sitting in his chair falling asleep every Sunday afternoon to the New York Metropolitan Opera via shortwave radio and sponsored by Texaco. Many childhood Sundays were spent that way. Thinking of what is available today (even via iTunes!) vs live and the shortwave vs live, we are living large! But live, even SRO in college, was extra ordinary... Eventually I bought season tickets (2) and would use them for first dates. If it was a lousy date, at least you had the opera. My first date with my bride of 25+ years was one of these. Ended up being "Lady McBeth of Minsk"! I knew she must've liked me because she went out on a second date after that :-) On Thu, Dec 4, 2014 at 9:42 AM, philippe.amard <philippe.amard at sfr.fr> wrote: > OMG! > > Opera must be experienced LIVE!!! > > A Callas addict hath spoken > > Philippe > > > Le 4 d?c. 14 ? 16:45, Ken Carney a ?crit : > > For opera and other classical, you might look at Medici.tv.
