It also has a larger sensor than usual - a Micro 4/3 - and a reasonably fast 24-75mm Leica badged lens f1.7-2.8. Panasonic make excellent micro 4/3 cameras, and I do not see why this should not be very good indeed. In fact it is the perfect "carry everywhere" camera. Another similar option you can check out is the latest iteration of the Sony RX 100, which has more resolution (20MP), very similar specs and a Zeiss badged lens: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1049537-REG/sony_dscrx100m3_b_cyber_shot_dsc_rx100_iii_digital.html Either of these, IMHO, are very good travel and street shooting options. My guess is both the lenses would have a fair amount of distortion at the end of their ranges, which is the norm nowadays, but which would be easy to correct via software.
