What Richard said. My solution is to use Apple?s Airplay and an AppleTV unit 
for mirroring when using an Apple device or a nice long HDMI cable for 
everything else.

The problem with paper manuals is that a) it cost money to print and ship b) 
?Smart? TVs are so complicated now that a dead tree manual would be pretty 
thick.

All the major TV manufacturer sucks at designing an usable smartTV. I have a 
Samsung at home and it?s ?smart? bits are pathetic from usability 
perspective. AppleTV, for all it?s faults, is way better for usability than 
anything I?ve seen from any of the TV manufacturers whether they are 
Japanese, Korean or Chinese. I was involved in the design of a set top box 
last year. My lesson learnt is don?t let techies design UI. They love what 
they designed and they did try to do a good job. Usability for the 
average-joe is not the same as usability for a techie with 5-10 years of 
experience and technical education. I had to push them hard to bring in 
usability specialists.

As for the TV as the centre of the home universe, that has been the wet 
dream of every TV manufacturer for at least the 15 years I?ve involved in 
the multimedia industry. No one has succeeded yet and everyone has tried and 
are still trying. All the efforts are just that, efforts. I don?t want to 
answer my phone call using my TV. No, really! Nor do I want to close the 
curtains via some dialog on my TV.

Nathan, I really suggest a nice long HDMI cable. LG is not particularly 
better than Samsung so keep your expectations low and you won?t be 
disappointed.
