Subject: [Leica] Autofocus & battery life question

I just noticed that SONY will be releasing a hefty tele-zoom for its
AR series. (70-200mm I think). It boasts 2 motors; I guess this is
necessary to speed up autofocus because of the increased mass of its
glass. Do other mfgrs do this? It seems to me that this would cut
battery life, no?
