Since I am travelling a lot, I can?t rely on a NAS. My current solution is a fast PNY 128GB USB3 flash drive for extra working storage and a 2TB USB3 HDD for bulk storage and backup. You can use a SSD rather than a HDD if you want more speed and is willing to accept less storage. A faster USB3 stick solution would be something like a Kingston Data Traveler HyperX Predator (who dreams up these names?). My preferred solution would be Thunderbolt-connected 1TB PCIe flash (one of these days :).
