It is not a cataloging system, but does very nice RAW processing. Speed is much improved over the past couple of years. It has RAW masking capabilities with layers which is something LR doesn't do (I know LR has history, but you negate all steps above the one you want to delete). When I am done with RAW processing in C1 (which does as good a job as LR of recovering highlights, shadows, clarity, etc.), I bring it into 3rd party programs to refine it. I currently use CS6. I'd be happy to answer any questions if I can.
