Ah yes!
And you also said this about the S2:
" In any case, for those that may first buy the S2 system, it will
possibly say more about their financial circumstances, than their
photographic ability or good sense."

I think scrambling and dreaming about buying a Leica S2, probably the best
camera made today just might say something about ones commitment to
photography.
Again it runs around $27,000.

- one could buy a motorcycle.
A 2013 Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide Touring cost $27,859.
I wonder how much sarcasm a buyer of one of those would get from his peer
group?

When you took your workshop in Martha's Vineyard which $600 4/3's body was
it recommended you invest in?

Though some would buy their kid a 2013 Volkswagen GTI so they'd have a car
to drive around in their college town and have more of a chance of the kid
staying alive past their freshman year.. Cost about the same as an S2. One
can be had for around $27,000 maybe with no AC.

A Hasselblad H5D-200MS Medium Format DSLR cost $42,995.00
I think the S2 is a better camera!
A Hasselblad H5D-60 Medium Format DSLR Camera cost $39,995.00
I'm pretty sure just about any client there is would be more happy with what
I'd give them with a Leica S2 and glass.

A Mamiya RZ80 DSLR Camera Kit cost $33,366.00
O boy all I ever wanted to do was grow up and shoot with a Mamiya camera!

Most the photographers I knew in Portland had well over $100,000 in camera
gear. Two or three times that some of them. I was at the low end.
$27 thou is a respectable amount of money to pay for what is probably the
best camera body available today with the best lens. The glass of course in
the end costing many times that but I'd start off with a short tele like I
did with my Hasselblad system when I started out. I started out with a 150
Sonar. With the Leica S2 system id start out with the awesome
APO-Macro-Summarit-S 120mm f/2.5 CS Lens for $8.5 grand.
And coincidently made by the camera company we're all here to talk about!
I'm glad I'm all excited bout what Leica is doing around you?!!

Perhaps the role of the S2 is to make the M 240 or Monochrom look like a
budget deal?!? At about a forth the price?

Recently I read that to get into driving a cab in NY, that's a business
you're in effect starting; it cost about $1,000,000.
I wonder where all those people get a cool mil from to drive a yellow cab?!
I guess a million bucks is not a million bucks any more.
