I'd think we're all discussing the time duration between
depressing the "shutter button"
and
beginning the capture process.
Each camera has some delay
whether involving simple mechanical movements of shutter parts and mirrors
or complex electro/mechanical movements of auto focus servo motors
and/or exposure calculations
or
all of the above.
The more you ask the camera to do "for you"
the longer the delay
in my experience.
