I have used my D4 up to ISO 25600 only a couple of times, but the results are quite impressive. Have not gone any higher, as I rarely have the need to go above 12800. Most of my high ISO shots are no higher than 6400, which gives great results. It is good to know you can go very high when needed though. As for the D4 in general it is a killer machine, with great ergonomics, quiet operation, a bit heavy, but not a big issue, especially when using it with my 400/2.8 lens and TC's, all of which goes on a tripod, hand holding this lens is a Pipe Dream only. It is a great action photography body, and also works very well catching flying birds etc. I just bought my first XQD card, with its super high write speeds, giving 100+ burst shots with no slow down of drive speed, although I cannot imagine why you would need so many continuous images. There has been a lot of hype on the lower capacity batteries, but I have found battery life to be excellent, with 2 - 3 day life possible, depending on your shooting habits. It has relegated my R8DMR to use for more static images. As my father was sitting there, I decided to just take a few high ISO shots, all under florescent lights with the AWB setting. These have been processed in Lightroom, because I was really interested in what a real world final result would be with regard to noise - with this end in view, I have added some luminance noise reduction (15), but only default sharpening: ISO 12800: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/jayanand/OddsAndEnds/D4Test/12800.JPG.html ISO 18100: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/jayanand/OddsAndEnds/D4Test/18100.JPG.html ISO 25600: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/jayanand/OddsAndEnds/D4Test/25600.JPG.html Please see LARGE.
