Since the USA and the UK represent large marketing areas the disclosure is usually made in English. In addition, indication of the place of origin of a product may also serve as a surrogate indication of quality (or lack thereof). So the phrase "Made in Germany" on a French website about the Leica Mini m would not be unusual. A full description of the US requirements of product origin is given in: <http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus03-complying-made-usa-standard> Do any of you remember the marking "Made in Occupied Japan" engraved on Canon and Nikon cameras of the 1950s?
