I could see this subscription model working if it were actually on something 
like a day rate.
I can go a week or two without needing Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver or 
Photoshop.
Then I might use them for 5 - 8 hours per day for a day or two.
The ability to rent "state-of-the-art" software on an as-needed basis 
actually makes sense to me.
Obviously a design firm would naturally rent the SW for a monthly or annual 
rate.
But a freelancer - not economically feasible.
