There are two hot plates, one hotter than the other, with hinged covers, sitting on the cover of the less-hot one is very warm indeed. Don't recommend the other... We don't have an Aga in our current house and I miss it. We have been looking into remodelling the house so I investigated installing one. With current energy prices around here it doesn't look like a sensible choice. At my brother's house in Scotland the Aga is their only cooker and keeps the kitchen beautifully warm all year.
