Kyle's book is excellent because, among other things, you can view the images in whatever context you wish, without editorial content. Not to mention the photography. After I received my first copy, I ordered some light stands, remote triggers and all that, but obviously I need a class or many classes. The CNN essay seems contrived, or at least if I saw someone shooting a picture of herself on a range I might make a phone call.... It seems to me a mildly interesting news report on mildly interesting art project; made mildly more interesting because "guns and gun violence" is front and center in the main stream media.
