No commercial vehicles are allowed and, unless you go during "leaf peeper" season, you will have the Parkway to yourself. Unfortunately, most of the NC portion was closed because of ice and snow while we were there. When the tunnels fill up with icicles, they close portions of the Parkway and leave them closed until spring.
