I tend to go to a subject and show them the image - generally all resistance flows away, as they are genuinely delighted to see themselves. If requested, I give them a 6x4 print the next time I pass their way, or post it to their address. That way I pile up goodwill for the next time, because news travels around that I am OK, and that I actually give out prints if asked! I have never been asked to erase an image as yet...but I would do it if requested.
