Designed in Belgium, manufactured in France (ST Microelectronics, near 
Grenoble close to Switzerland), which would be a sign of quality if it were 
chocolate, beer or wine ;-)

 As I search to see what is in the new Leica 25 CMOS that might make it worse
or better or the same as what most are getting from their top line DSLR's
other than non zoom and better glass I find this on the people who make the
sensor and on the sensor itself. Made by CMOSIS  of Antwerp Belgium. A city
of many flavors of chocolate and beer.
