They're everywhere and used by many people as their primary mode of transportation. During my teaching and graduate school days, that was the only vehicle I owned. Did I haul much of anything? No.... -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+rclark01=comcast.net at leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+rclark01=comcast.net at leica-users.org] On Behalf Of FRANK DERNIE Sent: Sunday, January 13, 2013 3:58 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] My first photo of 2013 - Redneck Santa Doug, your lifestyle both the horses and wildlife photography make a go-anywhere vehicle a reasonable choice. Having a Range Rover to take the kids to an urban school is not. I was brought up on a farm, and we had a Land Rover, which I learned to drive in. Back then nobody who didn't need one bought such a vehicle. I hated the Land Rover as an on-road vehicle, and still do. I have no need for such a SUV, and still find them disconcertingly unstable on the occasions I have to drive one. I most of them are fashion accessories rather than needed! My brother uses one, but he is on the farm most days so, like in your case, it makes sense.
