He doesn't drive it as an everyday vehicle because it gets bad gas milage and it rides rough (trucks have stiff suspension to carry heavy weight when loaded). He uses it when he needs to haul furniture and other large objects. I've moved several times in recent years and have been very thankful to have free use of a pickup. If I had the money to buy another auto, I'd get a truck for that, and for driving in rural areas with rough roads when out photographing. I drive a Chevy Caprice down Waldo Canyon Road in rural New Mexico once, and it was NOT the right car (dirt road, steep hills, very rough and poorly maintained). A 4x4 pickup would have been perfect. My Caprice actually did very well, those things were built like tanks, damn near indestructible.
