Better than the Nikon 28mm f1.8 - I tested both for a bit before I bought the Zeiss. He was not quoting the best lens for the D800E based his experience, but DXO Mark data - which is always the sign of a bean counter. Anyway, the comment was a light hearted off the cuff one, not meant to be taken too seriously.
