The current DX cameras, like the D5100 and D7000 (which share the same sensor), give results that are significantly better than the older generation of DX cameras, and at high ISO's, are very good indeed. Check the dpreview.com comparisons of the D5100 with the M9, and D4. You might be surprised. If self respect is the reason to get a full frame camera, then something is wrong with all the serious photographers using 4/3's and Sony mirrorless cameras.
