Jayanand,
I agree with your assessment of Leica and the luxury goods market. I
was really writing to contradict the notion that Leica will somehow
make a prominent showing in the professional journalism trade. That
isn't the market that Leica is targeting and these days working
journalists can only fantasize about the halcyon days of silver process
photos in the news, carrying two or more camera bodies with fixed focal
length lenses. It just doesn't work for all but several very
senior handfuls out of tens of thousands of working journalists the
world over.
