I'm a retired Air Force colonel too, but I certainly can't get into MY last Service uniform. But then, Command Pilots (star over the shield, and a laurel wreath surrounding the star) tend to be guys who are naturally trim all their lives. Interesting to think about the conversation a retired USAF Command Pilot who was on active duty during the Cold War might be having with a Russian woman. I might have the opportunity to administer the commissioning oath to my son next summer. This picture is inspiring! Guess I have my work cut out for me.
