After I sold my first M3, I actually had dreams about almost having another Leica in my grasp. Who knew THAT would happen? During the bitter divorce that consumed nearly everything I owned of value, I agreed to give all of my Leica equipment to my ex with much reluctance. I was threatened with prolonged trials, and it was an easy decision as the value of my Leica equipment is greatly exceeded by the cost of continued litigation. Among them was a double-stroke M3 which I purchased shortly after the birth of my son, and the vast majority of his baby pictures were taken with it. Also lost in divorce was the M8, which finally converted me to the world of digital photography. Given that it has an iffy electrical contact with the SD card, a faulty switch, and a few other flaws, I doubt it is worth very much any more. After 40,000 photographs in the last several years, it was used well. I am left with just two micro 4/3 Olympus bodies, and a few lenses. At least I will be able to continue taking photographs. I imagine that I will return to the world of Leica, though the day may be in a distant future. Since my ex is not a photographer, she will most likely try to sell them for money. She demanded them from me out of spite, and I hope she's happy. However, I would imagine that she will be shocked by how little they are worth on the market. I will remain on the LUG, but I won't be able to show any Leica photos for some years to come.
