The colours were extremely bright and vivid that day because it was just a couple of days after Kumbhabhishekam (periodical consecration ceremony) in 2009, for which the whole complex had been freshly repainted. Thanks for the link to Vasarely's Manipur series - it looks interesting, let me delve a little deeper into it.
