Hi Ken,
Heck don't be shocked as there are lots more from a 63 year career about the
world and back that was always fun! :-) Well OK there were some moments that
caused a tad bit of survival concerns? But what the hell, I made it this far
and my plan is to keep going for another 17 years and "crap out on the day
of the 100th!" :-)

That's my plan! Then there is "The Great Spirit's Plan!" And my plan wont
count! :-) But what the hell, smile and take what comes! :-) Certainly after
all these marvelous years involved with photography and quite remarkable
wonderful folks in my life! :-)

And my cowboy story is nothing compared to a helicopter auto-rotating to the
Arctic ocean water with my door off and waiting to hit the water. :-) Damn
near peed my pants on that one! :-)

Or strapped in a Stock Car and shooting from inside a car during a race, car
to car on mile dirt tracks. Long before video cameras were installed or
thought of!! :-) Or just crashing without a camera of course in the middle
of a race when I drove stocks and sprint cars! Not taking pictures,
obviously! :-) :-) It was a heck of a fun filled fearful life! :-) Damn and
I'd do it all over again! :-) Providing it was all digital instead of film!
:-) And Leicas weren't $22,000 each! :-)

Or the parachute jump.....on my 65th birthday because I always thought it
would be "cool to roll out and float to earth just to see what it was like?"
:-) No I didn't take a camera as I felt it required my full attention to the
landing! :-) :-) Oh and some day I'll tell you about my P-51 fighter plane
escapade on my 76th birthday and yes I did take pictures! :-) Yeah I can
throw a couple of those up as we were flying along upside down about 4000
feet! Hell of a ride! I shot down a half dozen Messerschmitts on the
flight!! ;-) ;-) ;-) :-)

So the two holer cowboy story is but one of several from an assignment and
prepping in learning how to ride a horse properly with three M Leicas
hanging off my neck and an SLR with a 400mm 6.8 lens slung over my back!!
:-) Damn near got hung with that one on a tree limb through the Alberta bush
wilderness because the damn horse wouldn't stop!!

The stories are endless and many will be revealed next year when the
biography being written as we speak is published next fall. A 50,000 word
book written by a very astute author who has been interviewing myself every
Thursday and Friday mornings 10 to 12 for the past many months. She has
already interviewed people in eastern Canada and the USA whom I shot for or
were editors who kicked my butt to make me a better photographer!

Yep as life goes around it's incredible! :-) It never ends when you love it
with the passion of a love affair! :-)
17 years to go! :-)

cheers,
Dr. ted
