This hurricane moved to within 45 miles of me, and then just sat there for a few days. Pummeled us with rain (19" at the Audubon Park gauge, breaking previous records). Blew out 2 bedroom windows on day 1 (2:00 a.m.), but no broken glass anywhere near the house. Pummeled the French doors on the back bedroom (2nd floor) with 60 mph rain for about 40 hours. So, we need new carpet. Lost some siding and my wife's DirecTV dish (oh well, no more South Korean programming in the house for a while). In my hood, a lot of downed power lines and tons of leaves. Don't know how Chris Williams did. He lives about half a mile upriver from me, also on high ground. On day 2 of the deluge, a car with 6 people in it drove right into an underpass filled with water, but got out of the submerging car. Their first sound bite, directly into the TV camera was "LOOK AT MY FU***ING CAR!!!!!"
