Subject: [Leica] Amazon's long-term storage

Just a practical note. Check what is really on offer.

I lost an important file that I had backed up to A.N. OTHER service. The 
service
does auto uploads of files when they are altered. Because of the way that the
system described itself I assumed that I would be able to go back and 
retrieve
copies older than the current one.

My file got corrupted. The system uploaded the corrupted file as "changed". I
tried to retrieve it only to find that the stored version too was corrupted. 
So
I contacted user-support: "Oh no Sir we haven't implemented historical 
backups
yet"....

I am trying to re-construct it.
