That's gorgeous Ken!
Thanks for the praise on these photos too!

I was a weather guesser in the Navy and I've only seen a mesocyclone
once before in my life. So instead of the normal animal instinct of
self-preservation in the face of severe weather, we go to the
highest point and watch it. When I saw this one in its genesis, I
grabbed all the cameras, got in my little sister's subcompact and went
out to the highest point overlooking our little valley.

I got a bunch of good shots with the Nikon RFs and a few with the X100
in regular still and the panoramas here. The temperature was about 85
degrees and then as it moved in it dropped down to the upper 50s. I've
been in severe weather before but this one and the intense temperature
drop actually caused me a bit of fear. The rain started and I got in in
the car heading back to the house 1/2 mile away. Just as I hit the road
to our little block of houses, everything went sideways and I hit the
gas hoping to get near a solid structure before it got worse. I never
saw a rope touch down but the winds were so strong I was revving the
little car in first gear just to get into the driveway, into the wind.

Rain was intense, probably got a bit of hail damage and maybe lost some
roof tiles, we'll see when it clears.

Power went out for a bit but I'm sitting here emailing so the router is
back up and everything is good to go.
