Subject: [Leica] IMG: Back to film!

I feel like it was a mistake for Leica to discontinue the modern 50mm Elmar
Collapsible 2.8. A collapsible 50 is a basic part of Leica shooting and what
Leica is all about. With the change to the M series from the LTM or so
called screwmount series Leica we had a much less handy and pocketable
camera.
But having a collapsible lens makes it so it could still work going in many
pockets. Just not a pocket on your jeans.
Unless you are Mr. Green Jeans on Capt Kangaroo.

Its an image thing.

We still I think have the collapsible 90 macro which is a brilliant thing
close to my heart but for the fact that it does not collapse all that much
and it not the most light weight compact lens one can imagine.

The lightest compact lens is always going to be a collapsible 50. Its quite
a bit lighter than a 35 Summaron or other compact pre ASPH 35's from Leitz.
