Yes, this is the "modern" elmar 2.8 - 50 which I bought used about 8 years ago for about $ 600, which I find relatively "cheap" for a Leica lens. I would have thought this lens was easy to find ... obviously not! I also have a classic (1938) elmar 50 which I use once in awhile with the IIIc - but the latter is not to be compared with the modern elmar which produces excellent contrast.Jean-Michel > Date: Mon, 16 Jul 2012 17:27:19 +0200 > From: dlridings at gmail.com > To: lug at leica-users.org > Subject: Re: [Leica] IMG: Back to film! > > Beautiful ... that must be the modern 50/2.8 Elmar ... and it > convinces me to keep looking for one :-) > > Daniel > > On Mon, Jul 16, 2012 at 2:30 PM, Jean-Michel Mertz <j2m46 at hotmail.fr> > wrote: > > > > I often use the elmar 50 - 2.8 collapsible on my M8, I find it to be a > > very sharp and also soft lens, cf this portrait of my brother in law > > Bernard.
