Tina I don't believe that you and I and others on the LUG really know what
it really means to be shooting with a CCD (charge coupled device) or a CMOS
(complementary metal oxide semiconductor) image sensor unless we happen to
be electronic computer engineers which few of us are.
I'm just not buying it the people preferring the look of one over the other.
Its the emperors new clothes. We pretend we are seeing things we really
can't.
All we really know is how it effects our shooting.
We are living in a world in which we are competing against photographers who
can shoot at 5 EV's higher then we so far can. (M9 shooters vs. Canon/Nikon
DSLR shooters)
They are getting depth of friend and capturing action in the dark;
While we are shooting wide open and hoping nobody moves.

I think the M9 shooters who are able to upgrade to the new M9 Polychrome
will be happy as clams. There is no downside. The upgrade will for sure be
UP.
We need to trust Leica for having some real intelligence and integrity.
If they find a different nature of image sensor to be preferable then they
proably know what they are talking about. They are in the camera business
As are the 99.99% of photographers who are shooting the CMOS sensors as we
speak. Hitting deadlines. ...Seeing their results on the web and printed
media around the world.
