Subject: [Leica] OT: Flash for the SWC?

Shutter speed is less of an issue with flash as far as exposure goes.
Many people just use the fastest speed they can which is the sync speed.
But with a leaf Compur shutter not a focal plane shutter you can use any
speed you want even the highest, 500th of a second speed.
Its more fun to use slower speeds and work some ambient light in.
The light that was already in the room.
Your exposure is mainly controlled by your flash if you left your meter at
home you'd still be able to do the shoot.
And modern flashes are set up as a default for "Phil Flash".
Which meant the flash is just adding some pop to the ambient light.
Etching in some detail (the flash duration becomes the effective shutter
speed which captures the action of the shot)... And filling in shadows in
harsh light. Flash for many photographers is much more necessary at high
noon than it is for midnight.
