I think we figured out the D lux 3 does not have it. When you shoot a 16/9 with it which is a darned nice format its not done like any other point and shoot by cropping the sensor. Its done by using the whole sensor. In other words it would seem the sensor is in the same of 16/9. 1:1.65" CCD sensor The actual specs of this sensor as in how many mm's top and side and diagonal nobodies ever found out about it and lived. Panasonic has it in a few other of their cameras. It would seem to be a larger size than most point and shoot camera sensors. Shooting a 4/3 or 3/2 cuts the ends off the sensor. Not the top and bottom. A 1.6mm sensor has an 8 x 6mm senor with a 10mm diagonal. I'd think the 1.65 would be a smidge bigger than that but I could be way wrong. - - from my iRabs.
