My three sons graduated from college in the late 70s to mid 80s, with a BS, an MS, and a PhD. Through their work, and with our help, they were not burdened with debt when they entered the workforce. While I have no idea of the size of the loans, our grandkids, even with some help from us and their parents, and some athletic scholarships, came out with considerable debt. Two, with medical degrees, and one with a teaching degree, have a good chance of getting out from under the burden. Those with liberal arts degrees have to settle for any jobs they can find. Times are rough if your specialty is not in demand.
