After all it is (nearly) BW and it is from the shadow side ;-). Much of the rest reflect a taste for a particular fashion/approach I guess. I must get to that National Portrait Gallery next time I visit that city. I have to say that in general they interest me much more than the also recently concluded Archibald Prize here (for paintings).
