I need low light performance, and use 1600 and 3200 routinely. I have various Canon L zooms, but covet the 24-105L and the 85mm 1.2. A friend just bought the 85mm and it is great. I'm probably going to buy the 24-105 in anticipation of the Dr. Grant cruise to lighten my load somewhat. The current versions of Photoshop and LR have the Canon lens profiles to take care of any barrel or pincushion distortion, so that should not be a problem. At least they work fine with my current lenses.
