When I first started this hobby, I had an M3 and some lenses, then a Contax, and then a seminar with Cole Weston where he suggested I would be much better off with a 4x5. So I got a Linhof Technica. That, of course, led to an 8x10. I was actually thinking about an 11x14 when I met David Kennedy, who did buy one when he moved from NYC to New Mexico only to find that his scene was pretty much gone while he set up.
