Yes, that is a slip-on orange filter that gives more contrast between the rangefinder images. The first one I used was on my IIIa when I purchased it in 1952. This one was obtained from DAG. They work best when installed on the window above the lens, but, with the rear flange on this lens, there's no room, so I get an orange field with a white spot.
