We call that the 747 rule in our house.

"Dad carries the camera everywhere just in case a 747 crashes nearby."

As I am destined to never make big money taking pictures, one will never 
crash nearby so long as I carry my camera.

I do not charge the airline industry for reducing crashes -- that part is a 
public service
