I usually shoot either Thursday evening or Friday morning the week I post. I never use macro gear, and always shoot "in the wild." (I take that back, twice I shot inside because of weather.) I started Friday Flowers on the Archivists list after I got an assignment for Louisiana Life Magazine featuring Hodges Gardens. It was popular there, so I started sharing with the Leica list, and soon others joined in. For me it is more about the photography than the flowers; since I live in a place where I can find them year-round, it makes for an easy assignment to keep me shooting. I have not missed a week since I started about six years ago, and only twice have I posted from stock, and that was when I had knee replacement surgery. The third week, I walked down the street to shoot some spider lilies. Usually, I shoot with prime lenses, mostly with a Summicron 35 on the M8, but lately with a 40mm DA Pentax ltd lens. I wish it fit my M8. I do shoot other subjects and try to post often, and I look at nearly every picture posted here.
