Subject: [Leica] OT: Which car to buy...

I'm more impressed by someone's choice of tripod then I am choice of camera
body or car. I'm not impressed by a "choice" camera on a half assed tripod.
I'd rater have the opposite set up.
A camera like a Leica deserves a quality tripod. If not a carbon Gitzo a
Carbon Manfrotto. There are cheaper carbon tripods by other companies such
as Giottos might be ok in a pinch. Another option might be a wood tripod
maybe by Berlebach or others. Pinocchio's dad maybe makes one.

One tripod brand I'd not heard of before in that game:
Leica Geosystems - GST05 Telescopic Wooden Tripod 399244
$220 online

"( Light tripod with water-tight plastic wrap for complete protection.
Suitable for GPS and target stations with long set-up periods. Packaged
length 107 cm (3.51ft), extendible to 176 cm (5.77ft), weight 5.6 kg
(12.3lb).)"

I just bet you could use it for photography
