Subject: [Leica] Dangers of Efficiency CAPE COD SEMINAR... THE YEARS!

Wow! This is sad news indeed. Carl and Armenne are wonderful people, and
the seminar is one of the best. Chris and I really had a great time last
year. We could not attend this year due to other travel plans. But we were
planning on attending next year, and now it appears, they may not have it
either? A Great Loss. Loosing family members is a tough situation, and our
hearts go out to Carl, and Armenne for their loss.

Hi Tina,
I received a phone call last evening from Arrmenne with her sounding
extremely sad saying Carl had decided to cancel this year's Seminar. And it
is extremely difficult for him to do so.

The death of his younger brother a couple of weeks ago set him back
big-time emotionally. Then there were some cancellations happening and not
the usual 80 or so registries! The economic situation is affecting some
folks.:-(

As in any case, cancellations usually occur after we've applied the prep
time in putting our programmes into hard copy ready to go. It's called
"that's life !" :-(

I felt very sad, nostalgic, sorry for Carl and Armenne as they've a long
time putting this seminar on. And my memories came to the forefront . ...
Considering I was a sort of "one man stand-up" Leica photography teacher
whatever for 16 years in a row.

Those Cape Cod Seminars were extra special as people went home well schooled
in "PHOTOGRAPHY!" Usually wired to get home out shooting what they had
learned with a huge level of enthusiasm. It was the new friends made each
year and to see them again the next year... It evolved into a great family
of friends and acquaintances!:-)

Before they left on the last day, many signed up a year in advance to be
sure they'd have a spot in the group the next year!

I've met quite a number of LUG people, including yourself Tina, where we
meet face to face in a wonderful atmosphere of photography, shooting from
sunrise to sunset and presentations in-between! It was a time wasn't it? :-)

I doubt there are few others as wonderful as the Leica International Cape
Cod Photography Seminar!

But like so many wonderful things there is the inevitable end! :-(

To the many LUG folks who attended it was so neat to put faces and humans to
the names on the screen each year. Thanks for your being part of the crew!

cheers,
ted
