And you have to find used. Except Sigma. But a standard classic 100 or 105 macro can often be too short.. I see now as I look Canon makes a EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro to compete with Nikons 200. Oh the 200 is still made by nikon its the Telephoto AF Micro Nikkor 200mm f/4.0D ED-IF Autofocus Lens for a grand and a half. Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM APO Macro Lens for canon or nikon or others I think. They also make a 70-200mm f/2.8 II EX DG APO Macro HSM AF Lens for Canon EOS or nikon or Pentax or Sony alpha They also make I think the only wide angle macro anyone's ever heard of the 24mm f/1.8 EX Aspherical DG DF Macro Autofocus Lens. Its my guess these are very good lenes. Canon Nikon Quality. Not quite Leica though I'm sure. -- Mark R. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/lugalrabs/ > From: Jim Nichols <jhnichols at lighttube.net> > Reply-To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Date: Mon, 5 Sep 2011 14:09:30 -0500 > To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Subject: Re: [Leica] IMG: More Insects, New Approach > > Thanks, Lluis. > > Jim Nichols > Tullahoma, TN USA > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Lluis Ripoll" <lluisripollquerol at gmail.com> > To: "Leica Users Group" <lug at leica-users.org> > Sent: Monday, September 05, 2011 2:02 PM > Subject: Re: [Leica] IMG: More Insects, New Approach > > >> Very nice Jim, specially the second one >> >> cheers >> Lluis >> >> El 03/09/2011, a las 21:18, Jim Nichols escribi?: >> >>> Someone recently suggested that longer lenses may be easier to use for >>> some insect shots, because one does not spook the critter by getting to >>> close.
