My early ones, that I gave to amateur friends, are still in use, and that's after a heavy commercial usage. The CF card is still faster, in writing speed, than my SD cards, a big plus, when shooting RAW and jpeg together. I do a have a bone to pick with Lexar. I have a pro 4 gig card that my 1D has a hard time booting up and reading. I sent it in for a "fix", and even with that fix I still have the same issues. But, according to Lexar, the card is now within spec. Well, I hate to say it, but spec is when it's useable in my camera, not on their test bench. Some time back, I switched to the Calumet cards. If there is a problem, they exchange the card, no questions asked (other than mistreatment). The Lexar card, on the other hand, now sits on a shelf. S.d.
