This is why using a camera with live view is probably the best option for
shooting infrared - you get precise focus that way.

Unfortunately, shooting well in IR takes some skills - well, no different
from shooting well with a rangefinder, or T/S lens or whatever - in any
case, it's fun to do, but tough to master.
