Soon after it was introduced I bought an ASPH Summilux. That became my favorite 35. At the time nothing could touch it. (I dropped it once. That hurt. Thankfully Sherry Krauter made it like new again. It's still my favorite M lens.) Today I think the ASPH 'cron and 'lux are in the same ballpark. 'Cron is smaller and 'lux is faster, obviously. These days I think I prefer small over fast. I noticed that for between $2000 and $2500 you could purchase (excellent used condition of course) either a version IV summicron, an asph summicron or a pre-asph summilux. Which one? -- Chris Saganich www.imagebrooklyn.com _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
