Hi John,
That one always brings up the same question. :-)

I always offer first, "you really don't want to know?" I always get asked 
again! So I offer , "The Orthopod-surgeon is whacking a big chunk of bone 
out the patients knee!" :-)   People usually respond, "OH my Gawd! That must 
hurt?" Well not at that moment as the patient is unconscious.  Oh there's a 
few more for another time.
